Poland and Germany Discuss the Future of the European Econom
2026-11-04 10:27

Strengthening industrial cooperation, investing in infrastructure, improving security and developing the energy sector were among the main issues discussed during the 4th Polish-German Economic Forum in Warsaw. The event brought together representatives of both governments and business organisations, including Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański, Germany’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche, PAIH Vice-President Dagmara Zawadzka and Dr Lars Gutheil, Director General of the Polish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Poland).

During the opening discussions, Minister Domański stressed that Europe needs to identify new sources of economic growth while reducing unnecessary bureaucracy and strengthening its competitiveness. He also highlighted the importance of developing competitive energy markets and ensuring that new technologies are introduced responsibly.

Germany’s Minister Katherina Reiche pointed to the long-standing economic relationship between Poland and Germany, emphasising that cooperation between European partners is essential to competing effectively with major global economies. In her view, combining the strengths and expertise of both countries can create better conditions for investment, technological development and international business expansion.

Key Areas for Joint Action

The forum featured a series of panel discussions and meetings covering issues of strategic importance to both economies. Participants examined the development of innovative technologies, security and defence, energy stability and the resilience of supply chains.

Dagmara Zawadzka, Vice-President of PAIH, noted that further progress in Polish-German relations should build on the major transformations currently taking place in both countries. These include the energy transition, digitalisation and efforts to strengthen security systems. She also underlined PAIH’s role in helping companies establish international partnerships and supporting them throughout the process of developing cross-border projects.

Dr Lars Gutheil observed that economic cooperation between Poland and Germany is entering a new phase. Joint ventures, knowledge sharing and the combination of complementary expertise are becoming increasingly important. Such partnerships can improve the competitiveness of businesses in both countries while contributing to the overall strength of the European economy. AHK Poland supports companies in identifying suitable partners and developing business relationships with genuine commercial potential.

Strong Interest from the Business Community

The forum attracted more than 350 participants, including representatives of Polish and German companies, public administration and business support institutions. The high attendance reflected the growing interest in expanding economic relations between the two countries.

The event was jointly organised by Poland’s Ministry of Development and Technology, Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the Eastern Committee of German Business and the Polish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Poland).
