Enhancing Climate Resilience in Eastern Polish Cities
2026-02-13 13:07

A new initiative has been launched to strengthen the resilience of cities in Eastern Poland against the impacts of climate change. The program focuses on the development or updating of planning documents related to climate adaptation strategies for medium-sized cities experiencing socio-economic decline, as well as cities in subregions with the highest concentration of marginalized municipalities. Eligible cities have populations ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 residents.

The program provides funding in the form of grants, with a total budget of PLN 3 million. Applications will be accepted from February 16, 2026, to April 16, 2026, through the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. Detailed information and application forms will be available on the official website: www.funduszeeuropejskie.gov.pl.

This initiative aims to help local governments better prepare for climate-related threats, improve urban planning, and support long-term sustainable development in the region.
